Josh Ward - Owner/Head Trainer
Josh has been training dog nearly his entire life. Beginning with 4H obedience programs, his passion for waterfowling naturally dovetailed into full time retriever training. Josh has titled many dogs in the HRC program as well as produced countless over qualified gun dogs for the field and marsh.
Josh's personal Chesapeake bay retriever is quickly approaching 500 HRC points, a feat not many chesapeakes have achieved. His 2 up and coming Boykin spaniels are looking forward to the 2012 hunt test season!
Josh, his wife Sarah, and son JJ reside near Fortville, IN. On a typical day in the field JJ is doing his best to fulfill the bird boy duties despite his small 5 yr old stature.
Matt Gasaway - Assistant Trainer
Matt's passion for training is second to none, a lifelong resident of Kokomo, IN Matt is vital to the success of O.P.E. Retrievers. He is a key to the training of our young dogs. Matt personally owns 3 Labradors, who are very successful in the HRC test arena.
When not in the field training with us, Matt is an insurance agent with his family owned independent insurance agency. Matt and his wife Libby are expecting their first son in the spring of 2012.
